    After calling a few places and receiving no callbacks to install a garage door opener, I decided to contact J&R via e-mail. Mr. Smith was extremely responsive (wrote back within an hour of my initial contact) and considerate of my time. Samantha was just as customer-oriented as Mr. Smith and I really appreciated her knowledge as to what kind of opener what be best for my home. They were very communicative also regarding the status of parts available and when they would be able to install the opener system -- we had a minor delay with getting parts and even though I was not in a rush to have the installation completed, Samantha did not want to keep me hanging on a string waiting to get the job done. I think the delay was 4(?) days, no biggie. Mr. Smith arrived and worked in a timely manner with no drama, explaining how the opener worked, safety precautions, etc. -- thank you.     I accidentally backed into my garage door rendering it inoperable. I contacted 3 companies on Thumbtack. JR Garage was super responsive, friendly, and came in with the best price quote. The door that wanted was out of stock so they even came out and fixed my current, very banged up door so that I could still use it while waiting for the new door. Called JR Garage Door and Svcs to have two new garage doors installed in my new house in Upper Marlboro, and Samantha was great in explaining all options and possible discounts. Once we settled on a plan, Clayton was able to squeeze in my installation and did it very well and explained all the functionality to me, even made some very good suggestions (e.g., not to use LED bulbs next to the motor/antenna since they interfere with transmission from the remotes).     I went to JR GD&S website to fill out the Free Estimate request and I received a call from Samantha in less than an hour. She asked me about the details and asked for me to send pictures of the door and the broken spring to ensure they couldget the part and also to give an accurate quote. She called back with the quote but suggested I replace both springs due to the possibility the other spring could break. It was also cost effective to buy 2 vs 1. Clayton arrived on time, asked me a few questions about spring lubrication timeframes, and he started accessing the situation. He gave me two options: replace both springs or he could install one, heavy-duty spring with a higher open/close cycle rating than the two together. It was the same price but I went with the higher rating. He was done in about 1.5 hrs.     Update 11/2019: So as people (read me) are wont to do, I procrastinated on setting up my wifi enabled garage door opener with the app. When I went to do it though, I realized my wall button wasn't the right type. I sent them an email (3 months after install), and they apologized and gave me a replacement. Came through to install it, and even waited to make sure I was able to set it up. 6 star service! Had an awesome experience with them getting a replacement door. I needed reframing on a nonstandard opening, and removal of the door from the 50s and replacement with an automatic system, and they came through. There were some scheduling issues along the way but they were very communicative (and very understanding when i once forgot about an appt). I was even given a credit for the reschedules.     I broke my garage door because it closed on an object. I contacted three other companies each company wanted to replace the door. JR came out within two hours and completely repaired the door and addressed safety issues that I was not aware of. Jr Also added additional reinforcement, I am completely satisfied with his services. I saved $2,200 by not replacing the door. Apparently, a lot of companies are simply trying to replace doors versus repairing them. See more See less

    Clayton is absolutely phenomenal. Another company tried to get me for $2,600 to replace a garage door that just needed to be repaired. I found JR Garage Door and Services this morning and was able to get a same day appointment. He came and repaired the door in 30 minutes. Amazing customer service, and affordable. Highly recommend.     The spring on our garage door broke on a Thursday night. I made an appointment with a company I found through a Google search and made an appointment for them to come early on Friday morning. Unfortunately, the company I made the appointment with, broke their promise to come out at 6am to fix our issue. And after a few calls to them to get an update on the arrival of a technician, two hours past our scheduled time, I cancelled the appointment with them. Luckily my wife found a post in our HA Group for JR Garage Door and Services. I sent a text to the number provided in our group and within 5 minutes of me sending a text I received a call back from Samantha. I booked the appointment and within no time they showed up at my house and fixed the broken spring to get the garage working. Through the whole process Samantha provided constant updates on arrival time and promptly responded to my texts when I had questions. I would highly recommend JR Garage Door and Services to anyone.     My experience with Clayton “Cliff” Smith of JR Garage Door & Services was Five Stars! No other way to describe it. My right-side garage door torsion spring had rusted and busted. I began searching online and I noticed how many friendly reviews were posted from genuine local customers living in my area. I noticed that a local exchange cell phone number was provided along with the two business numbers on the website. So I called it - and Cliff answered himself! As soon as I described my problem, he asked me to send him a phone pic of the door. 5 minutes later he had set up to be in my garage this afternoon and instantly quoted me the total price. The last place I had called was quoting me over $75 more, plus stated that the total price could be higher after completing the job. Their dispatcher was to call back - but never did. Mr. Smith showed up on time. In short, he had the entire job completed, adjusted, and all areas lubed - in a half hour or less. He also gave me pointers on maintenance and care before cleaning up to leave. Don’t waste your time hunting through Google for “the best” - that part has already been done for ya!
